Report exhibition of the Faculty of Design and Decorative Applied Arts
The exhibitions of the faculties of the State Academy of Fine Arts of Armenia are the best indicators of reporting about the achievements during the learning process: it has a long tradition here. The management of the Faculty of Design and Decorative Applied Arts came up with the idea of organizing such exhibitions six years ago, which later bore a regular character. This year’s report exhibition of the faculty opened yesterday, in the “Albert and Tove Boyajyan” exhibition hall.
In the opening speech, Mkrtich Ayvazyan, the Acting Rector of the State Academy of Fine Arts of Armenia, who was one of the originators sharing the same idea, highlighted the importance of such an exhibition format. Avetik Avetisyan, dean of the Faculty of Design and Decorative Applied Arts, spoke about the progress observed yearly. He also noted that there were more works worth to be exhibited and they would do so, later if possible. Vahe Gasparyan, head of the chair of drawing and painting, added that former head of the chair Saro Kalents was one of the initiators of such exhibitions. He noted that the success of the exhibition was not only due to the efforts of the students, but also to the efforts of the professors.
The novelty of this year’s exhibition was the awarding of certificated for “Best Work”. Thus, Lusine Avetisyan, Anna Hunanyan, Luiza Vardapetyan, Meri Avetisyan, Lilit Hovhannisyan, Ani Isaghulyan, Srbuhi Stepanyan and Anna Hovhannisyan were awarded certificates for “Best Work”.
