A creative Fab Lab will be established in Gyumri
A quadrilateral Memorandum was signed
A Memorandum of Cooperation between the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia, the State Academy of Fine Arts of Armenia, the “Fab Lab Armenia” educational foundation, and the Armenian General Benevolent Union (Armenia) was signed at the Center for Contemporary Experiential Art (ACCEA) on April 2. The Memorandum was signed by Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Daniel Danielyan, Acting Rector of the State Academy of Fine Arts of Armenia Mkrtich Ayvazyan, General Director of the Armenian General Benevolent Union Vasken Yakubyan and Executive Director of “Fab Lab Armenia” Educational Foundation Babken Chugaszyan.
The purpose of the memorandum is sustainable and effective cooperation, the expansion of further joint activities in the field of contemporary art, as well as the establishment of a creative Fab Lab (production laboratory) in the Gyumri branch of the State Academy of Fine Arts of Armenia within the framework of the “Catapult” creative acceleration program.
The goal of the creative Fab Lab (production laboratory) established in the territory of the Gyumri branch of the State Academy of Fine Arts of Armenia is to provide access to the tools, knowledge and financial resources necessary for education, innovation and discoveries through technology and digital products. It will be a production space with access to state-of-the-art digital production tools, innovative teaching methodology and access to the global Fab Lab network and learning community.
Within the framework of the event, the attendees also got acquainted with the exhibition “Beyond Data” actualised within the framework of the “Catapult” creative acceleration program. It is aimed at the study of the factors hindering the economic development of the creative and cultural spheres of Armenia.
