The Summer of Dilijan in paintings
Results of student internship
For many years, the students of the State Academy of Fine Arts of Armenia have been doing summer internships in Dilijan, where one of the branches of the academy is located. Dilijan – one of the places in Armenia with reach and picturesque nature. Has always been the best place for the internships especially in Summer time.
The exhibition of the works created during the internship is traditionally organised in the exhibition hall of Albert and Tove Boyajian. As the dean of Fine Arts faculty, Mr. Edik Vardanyan noted at the opening of yesterday’s exhibition the works created during the student internship is like a report of the work accomplished. He also stated that the number of students is rather few for this year. Meanwhile summer internship is not only the best opportunity for a painter to be surrounded with nature and work on site but also to have a direct contact with professors. Mr. Vardanyan advised to form groups and have internships in Dilijan more often.
The head of Graphics chair Mr. Abraham Sahakyan firstly greeted the students then thanked the officers of the exhibition hall and the top management of the Academy for involving the first-year students and giving such an opportunity to them.
The head of the internship Mr. Mekhak Elbakyan knows from his experience the importance of summer internships, “We attach great importance to this realizing how much the nature has to teach the artist”.
Yesterday’s exhibition was the evidence of all the above-mentioned. The atmosphere of summer in Dilijan was transferred to the hall and the direct influence of nature could be noticed in the paintings.
