Armenian-Iranian cultural dialogue in Tabriz
Within the framework of the Partnership Agreement signed between the State Academy of Fine Arts of Armenia and Tabriz Islamic Art University, Iran, the Armenian-Iranian cultural dialogue was launched with the participation of the SAFAA former and current students. It was actualised by the efforts of Habib Didar, a representative of Tabriz Islamic Art University.
Through May 3-13, 2023, an exhibition was held in the exhibition hall of Tabriz Islamic Art University. The participants were both former graduates and current students of the SAFAA; the former graduates-participants were Aram Mashuryan (Goris), Narek Minasyan (Kapan), both from Syunik region, Mariam Galstyan from Gegharkunik, Tatevik Nalbandyan from Armavir and current students Sevak Grigoryan, Tamara Zarmanyan, Siranush Vardanyan, Noyem Khachatryan, Ani Galstyan and Vahe Yeghyan.
This initiative was especially essential regarding observations and acquisition of significant information through cultural and spiritual dialogue, exhibitions and expositions, especially when it comes to the cultural similarities and diversities of neighbouring countries from ancient decades up to the present day.
It is very important for every artist to catch the rhythm and colour of Iranian life, their customs, dishes, folk song and musical instruments, applied arts, poetry, etc.
For the nations living side by side for so many centuries, it’s essential to have a closer cooperation and it’s promising that new generations value it.
Armenian delegation met a warm greeting and hospitality from the Iranian side that prepared visits to museums, exhibition halls and workshops; the Armenian delegation also met with the Primate of the Armenian Diocese of Atrpatakan, Supreme Archimandrite Grigor Chiftchyan.
I would like to extend my special thanks to the representative of Tabriz Islamic Art University, Mr Habib Didar, to Mariam Galstyan, a SAFAA graduate, who showed a kind and caring attitude and participation in the implementation of the exhibition. I also thank all the participating students for their warm and impeccable attitude.
