SAFAA students – winners of International Competition named “Academic Drawing”
On 1st of April the exhibition of demonstrating the results of XIV International student competition “Academic Drawing” in the great hall of the Saint Petersburg State Academy of Fine Arts and Industry named after Stieglitz. More than 160 students participated in the competition from Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Iran, China, Latvia and other countries.
Due to the efforts of International Relations department of State Academy of Fine Arts of Armenia and the head of Drawing and Colour Painting chair Vahe Gasparyan, 11 students and 1 graduate from SAFAA participated in the competition. As a result the following students from Bachelor’s academic programme in Painting Rafayel Hovhannisyan (4th year student, supervisor – Paravon Mirzoyan) and Tigran Senekerimyan (3rd year student, supervisor – Paravon Mirzoyan), took the first and third places in the nomination “Portrait: dimensional-spatial graphic solution”. Another participant – graduate of SAFAA from Fashion Design department Gyulizar Hakobyan (supervisor – Tigran Kirakosyan) won the 2nd place for the nomination “Portrait: decorative-flat graphic solution”.
It should be mentioned that another SAFAA student Ani Shahverdyan being on exchange at Saint Petersburg State Academy of Fine Arts and Industry for that period of time also participated in the competition.
