A Visit to People’s Republic of China
Recently at the invitation of School of Arts, Nantong University, the Rector of State Academy of Fine Arts of Armenia, Professor Aram Isabekyan and lecturer at the same Academy Arthur Hovhannisyan visited People’s Republic of China. With over ten representatives of International delegations, our delegation members had a week-long intensive and diverse cultural and work program.
Within the frameworks of the program, the participants visited historical places of the city, museums, as well as the branches of Nantong University, where Aram Isabekyan and Arthur Hovhannisyan got acquainted with the education conditions created for students, viewed their current and final academic works. Delegations consisting of the representatives particularly from Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan and Australia were hosted by the Party Committee Secretary of School of Arts, Nantong University, Professor Pu Yuzong. SAFAA Rector was elected as a delegate to meet the latter. On behalf of all the delegations Aram Isabekyan extended his words of gratitude to the top management of Nantong University for warm hospitality and for organizing and conducting multifaceted events. SAFAA Rector expressed his readiness for establishing further close cooperation with HEIs.
Another important event among the cultural days was exhibition entitled “Dissemination of Silk Road” and student exhibition “Silk Road”. Numerous guests and students present at the “Dissemination of Silk Road” exhibition at School of Arts, Nantong University visited to see numerous works, including Aram Isabekyan’s and Arthur Hovhannisyan’s painting and graphic works.
And the student exhibition titled “Silk Road” held in one of the modern exhibition-halls located in the very heart of Nantong showcased also the works of State Academy of Fine Arts of Armenia students that were highly appreciated by the visitors.
Among the series of events, the lectures and master classes conducted for School of Arts, Nantong University students were also noteworthy. During the lectures, Aram Isabekyan and Arthur Hovhannisyan also made a brief introduction to Armenian Fine Arts History. Another presentation was made on the history, mission statement, significance, as well as programme provisions of SAFAA.
The final step of the visit to People’s Republic of China was the cooperation agreement signed between School of Arts, Nantong University and State Academy of Fine Arts of Armenia that would enable possible close collaboration between the two institutions. It must be mentioned that SAFAA and School of Arts, Nantong University made an arrangement to establish a center of Armenian Culture and Art with the support of SAFAA.
