The results of Dilijan internship
Summer internship held in Dilijan offers a good start for work experience, especially for freshmen and is important in terms of education. This year they have held the internship period since mid-June, the results of which or the final exhibition opened on September 30, at Albert and Tove Boyajian exhibition-hall of State Academy of Fine Arts of Armenia. The exhibited works that portrayed mainly impressions from Dilijan in the form of landscapes were highly praised.
SAFAA Rector Aram Isabekyan gave some tips while referring to the individual preferences and already shaped styles of each, “Although your main assignment was to make etudes, it would be better if it included a summarizing, completed and large-scale work not necessarily made during the plein-air.” The dean of Fine Arts faculty Edik Vardanyan congratulated the students on the occasion of their first public exhibition and wished them further success in their free creative work.
Senior lecturer Mekhak Elbakyan who headed the internship, praised the working process in Dilijan. Considering the students’ organizational skills, diligence and aspiration as necessary prerequisites for gaining knowledge and skills and achieving further success, he outlined the following, “You shouldn’t be cut off from nature.” It’s important for the artist, he has a lot to learn from nature and it’s important to realise it.”
