Please find below about their impressions of the university, educational environment and European travel.
“In September 2022, we went to Linz, Austria, as part of the Erasmus+ exchange program. We studied at the Catholic University of Linz. The semester was full of new plans, trips, and impressions. Although the university program did not fully correspond to that of the State Academy of Arts of Armenia, trips to different European countries and viewing the originals of the most important works and masterpieces of world art were of great importance in our future professional development. The Catholic University was more focused on philosophy and theology which was very interesting for us to observe. Philosophy classes were very interesting and informative.
The scholarship provided by Erasmus+ allowed us to visit countries such as Germany, Italy, the Czech Republic, Norway, Sweden, and Poland. We also visited many Austrian cities. As a result of all these trips, we were able to see hundreds of original works of art up close. Among the authors are Brueghel, Bosch, Memling, Dürer, Cranach, Rubens, Botticelli, Raphael, Velasquez, Caravaggio, Arcimboldo, Rembrandt, Goya, El Greco, Van Eyck, Van Dyck, Delacroix, David, as well as Manet, Monet, Redon, Cezanne, Van Gogh, Klimt, Schiele, Rodin, Gauguin, Matisse, Vermeer, Poussin, Lorraine, Munch, Klein, Chagall, Mucha, Picasso, Miron, Kandinsky, Malevich, Mondrian, Kokoschka, de Kooning, Gorky, Pollock, Magritte, Ernst, Matan, de Chirico, Warhol, Rauschenberg, Duchamp, Hesse, Arp, Basquiat, Kiefer, and many others. It was a great honour for us to attend the exhibitions of the Venice Biennale. We are grateful to our home institution, the State Academy of Arts of Armenia for giving us such an opportunity”.
