Awarding Ceremony of the Competition Entitled “Best Student”
The awarding ceremony for “Best Student”-2021 took place on February 4, in the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia. The event was attended by the ESCS Minister Vahram Dumanyan, Deputy Minister Karen Trchunyan, Rectors and vice-rectors of HEIs and students.
Deputy Minister and the Chairman of the selection committee Karen Trchunyan informed that there were 34 winners, among them 16 students from Bachelor’s level and 18 – from Master’s level. In his words, 13 students won the first place who would be awarded monetary prize of 445.000 AMD, 2nd place was given to 11 students with the prize of 345.000 AMD and 10 students winning the 3rd place would be awarded with 220.000 AMD. “This is a good opportunity for our students to enrich their knowledge and serve it to the development of our country”, mentioned the Deputy Minister adding that the competition was in 7 specialties; Natural science, Social science, Armenian studies, Humanities, Health, Architecture and Culture-sports.
In his congratulatory speech to the winners for this significant achievement, the Minister Vahram Dumanyan noted that it was a great honor to be the winners of this kind of competition and at the same time a responsibility to re-evaluate the achievements anew and an important precondition to add to the success. In his words, the aim of the competition was to reveal and encourage those students who demonstrated high academic standing and were more active in their professional fields. The Minister highlighted the importance and feedback the competition would have in terms of raising the competitiveness among students, which would itself contribute to their qualitative progress, widening the scope of interest, promoting the opportunities of self-establishment and revealing the abilities.
Best students received greeting speeches also from the Rector of Gavar State University, Ruzanna Hakobyan and the vice-rector of State Medical University after M. Heratsi, Konstantin Yenkoyan. The certificates of the monetary prizes- nominal scholarships, as well as books- presents for best students were delivered by ESCS Minister Vahram Dumanyan. SAFAA 2nd year student from master academic programme in Sculpture, Mushegh Musayelyan won the 1st prize and 4th year student from BA programme in Graphics, Alik Kostanyan won the 2nd one.
