Childhood Dream
The thing that it’s not easy to enter the world of children, that they perceive the same reality in a completely different way and that we do not understand and maybe don’t attach much importance to it, is a fact; we just name it the planet of childhood and get satisfied with that name. We simply love them. It’s obligatory to listen to them, keep them in the centre of attention. They need our defence.
1st of June is Children’s Day. State Academy of Fine Arts of Armenia traditionally celebrates the day in a special way, organising events at Albert and Tove Boyajian exhibition hall or at the hall of SAFAA. This year was very different from the previous ones; it took place at Artists’ Union of Armenia, by the initiative of the President of Artists’ Union of Armenia Suren Safaryan and President of Trade Union of SAFAA, Nora Karapetyan, and with the help of the Director of “Albert and Tove Boyajian” exhibition hall Irina Isabekyan, and co-worker Liana Khachatryan.
Due to the organisers’ efforts, the hall carried a different reality, opposite to the atmosphere prevailing in the city. The guests of the exhibition gathered in front of the building of Artists’ Union of Armenia were greeted by Milena Nersisyan, who performed two songs and later a short concert was performed by brass orchestra from musical school after Avet Terteryan. The walls of the exhibition hall were decorated by children’s works. The organizers spared no effort to convey children a variety of interests, surprise them with different show programmes. There was a magician-illusionist, a master of blowing bubbles in the air and even snake and crocodile with their trainer. And of course, some refreshment was also served.
At the end of the event the children released balloons with their wishes; An unusual colourful stir reigned the yard. Pure eyes filled with childhood dreams; childhood that is longing for peaceful and secure sky above its head.
