The academic programme of “Industrial design” was presented to the academic staff and International partners
Working group conducting the revision of academic programme of “Industrial design” upon summarizing the activities on the programme development carried out the previous year, introduced the preliminary version of the academic programme to the academic staff of Design specialty as well as to the representatives of Dublin Institute of Art, Design and Technology (Ireland) who were on a visit to SAFAA.
The discussions proved the large-scale work carried out by working group while developing the mission, goals and objectives of the academic programme “Industrial design”, as well as expected learning outcomes, provisioned modules and their learning outcomes.
At the meeting with the academic staff, the discussions were over the modules and components, as well as issues related to the academic hours, contents, teaching and assessment approaches. The working group stated those meetings with the faculty would be held regularly to do the required amendments, as well as develop the descriptions of modules.
Benchmarking and conceptual issues were addressed while introducing academic programme development to the representatives of Dublin Institute of Art, Design and Technology (Ireland). Irish partners welcomed the reforms and general approaches to the academic programmes, expressing their readiness to make remarks and recommendations when receiving the final version of academic programmes. Opportunities for further cooperation were also discussed.
Before finalising and launching the academic programme of “Industrial design”, meetings with the representatives of employers are also planned.
