Exhibition “about diligence, sincerity and openness”
The exhibition hall of Albert and ToveBoyajian that has always been open forthe exhibitions of both students and lecturers and for serving to the idea of making them and their works popular to the public and contributing to the feedback from the public,due to the pandemic situation faced difficulties for some period in organizing exhibitions.Yesterday it hosted solo exhibition of 4th year student Tigran Grigoryanfrom Graphics department entitled “Inspiration”. In the poster for invitations there was depicted one of his most interesting paintings “Deep concentration”. We can consider this as the most typical expression of the whole exhibition and Tigran’s inner state about the process of concentrating mind. The painting can also be understood this way; human being is the outcome or victim of his own thoughts.
It seems that the signals of outer world are merely the forms through which he expresses his feelings, perceptions of phenomena. Such is the painting “Nightmare at Isahakyan street”, here a situation or a moment at a famous street made an impression of a nightmare on him, which he expressed in a special semantic way copying Edward Munch’s popular work “The scream”. Waiting, love, passion, anxiety, these human feelings are the inner leitmotif of his works.
By the words of dean of Design and Decorative Applied Arts faculty AvetikAvetisyan, Tigran’s exhibition is a result of hard work, “When the rest of students had gone home long ago, he was still working, processing and developing his own self very successfully”. Tigran’s creative style is very close to primitivism.
According to the head of Drawing and Painting chair, Vahe Gasparyan, Tigran’s works are attempts of different directions, where he wants to reveal painting for himself, “Tigran’s noticeable creative growth is gained due to diligence”. He told about how those gifted students who had talent but didn’t like to work during their study years went astray andon the contrary, many of them who did not stand out with special talent, showed good results. “This exhibition”, he said, “is about diligence, sincerity and openness”.
