Exhibition-Report at SAFAA
State Academy of Fine Arts of Armenia has different traditions shaped through years that are followed faithfully. Although the recent pandemic situation undoubtedly influenced the educational process leading it to online platform nevertheless the creative thinking couldn’t be stopped. It evolves even more actively. And a vivid example of above mentioned can be the exhibition –report of final year students of Design and Decorative Applied Arts faculty held at Albert and Tove Boyajian exhibition hall yesterday.
The disaster caused by war didn’t bypass SAFAA; our students also participated in the war and unfortunately never returned. This exhibition carries symbolic nature dedicated to the students died during the 2nd Artsakh war. Before opening the exhibition, those present observed a minute of silence in memory of the fallen students.
The level of performance of the works presented, their individual thinking, the intensity of creative elements were highly appreciated by vice-rector Mkrtich Ayvazyan and the dean of the faculty, Avetik Avetisyan. The dean of Fine Arts faculty Edik Vardanyan mentioned the works could be shown in any big exhibition hall and by the way not as student performances.
The head of chair of Drawing and painting, Vahe Gasparyan gave a detailed description of their plans. Avetik Avetisyan thanked in his speech all teaching staff members who worked throughout those years with the students and brought them to the culmination line noting that students’ works had obviously become more and more better. The head of Computer Graphics and Fashion Design chair Hayk Payaslyan and the head of Art Studies and Humanities Qnarik Avetisyan expressed their confidence that academic painting stood in the basis of all those specialties. Hayk Payaslyan pointed out the organizational skills Vahe Gasparyan possessed beside the responsibilities of the head of chair.
