“TrancePort”
Exhibition of 3rd year Graphics students
At the end of the academic year, 3rd year students of Graphics department of State Academy of Fine Arts of Armenia exhibited their works under an interesting heading “TrancePort”. The curator and coordinator of the exhibition Zackar Demirtchyan interpreted it as an entry to the trance.
The Rector of the Academy welcomed the participants and outlined the advantage of the exhibition to manifest modern thinking and interesting approaches. “It’s good that the knowledge gained in the Academy is expressed in the works and it’s good that you have a wide range of interest”, he said wishing students to have more meaningful exhibitions furthermore.
While introducing the works, Zackar demirtchyan told that an attempt was made to preserve the creative individuality of each participant, not to restrict their freedom of artistic thinking. As a result, the works presented, according to him, were beyond purely student nature, they were manifestations of creative personalities. He also thanked students for their hard work, cooperation and collaboration.
The assignment having certain thematic limitations nevertheless allowed behaving and acting rather freely even demonstrating arbitrary approaches. The entrance to the trance state is strictly individual and requires not only sharp imagination from the artist but also certain spiritual knowledge and intuition. The presented stained-glass works were also of interest.
