The academic program of a researcher undergoes an external review
On April 30, the expert panel made site-visit to State Academy of Fine Arts of Armenia to evaluate the academic program of a researcher and the research works carried out. The external evaluation is conducted within Erasmus+ project “Promoting Internationalization of Research through Establishment and Operationalization of Cycle 3 Quality Assurance System in Line with the European Integration” (C3QA).
The main purpose of the visit was to evaluate the current academic programme of a researcher and internal quality assurance system for 3rd cycle implemented within the frames of the grant project. The process was carried out based on self-analysis and relevant documents provided by SAFAA. The expert panel was composed of the representatives-partners from National Center for Professional Education Quality Assurance Foundation (ANQA), HEIs of Poland, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, as well as Yerevan State University.
During the visit, the experts had meetings with the vice-rector for academic affairs and science, working group of “C3QA” project, representatives of ANQA, and relevant chair in charge for providing services of researcher program, scientific secretary, students-researchers, academic staff and top management. During the meetings the activities defined in the strategy for research, required steps taken towards the revision of the academic program of a researcher as well as the new researcher program itself based on learning outcomes were presented. The meetings also addressed the implemented internal quality assurance system and further steps aimed at evaluating and improving the researcher’s academic program and research activities.
The expert panel got acquainted with the resources available at SAFAA, visiting the library, laboratories and the environment favourable for research activities. They examined additional documents presented by the institution. As a result of meetings and discussions, preliminary summarising was presented.
The conclusion and report of the expert panel with relevant remarks will be provided to the institution for further improvements and corrections.
SAFAA has participated in Erasmus+ project “Promoting Internationalization of Research through Establishment and Operationalization of Cycle 3 Quality Assurance System in Line with the European Integration” since 2016 and within the project SAFAA has revised the strategy for research and developed the internal quality assurance system for 3rd cycle (mechanisms and tools) aimed at improving the research environment of the institution and conducting a continuous evaluation of the effectiveness of the academic program.
The grant project ends in October, 2019.
