2-year Master
The academic programme in Art History and Theory aims at training highly qualified art-critics in general and specialists in history of fine arts, fictional criticism, museum activities, tourism and other fields requiring high professionalism of fine arts. The programme is offered for BA, MA and researcher levels.
The programme also offers courses in Armenian and world art history, history of Armenian and foreign architecture, ethnography, archaeology, history of Armenian and world theatre, history of music, museology, foreign language, etc.
Particular attention is attached to developing critical thinking and analytical skills of the students. At practical level, the programme offers internships in exhibition halls, galleries, museums, state archives and publishing houses.
In the 4th year of the Bachelor level, diploma defence is carried out. Master’s degree final assessment is carried out in the form of master’s thesis defence. For the preparation of Master’s thesis, a supervisor and an opponent are assigned to the graduate. The topic and scope of the final work are approved by the chair of Art studies.
